Compare putter grips: feel, size and fitting

Which Flat Cat putter grip should you choose?

  • Original: a lightweight polyurethane grip with Flat Cat’s rectangular profile and a lower-traction surface.
  • TAK: the rectangular Flat Cat shape with a tackier rubber surface. Compare it with Original if you prefer a more grippy feel.
  • Solution: the weighted option, with a stainless steel cone below the hands. Check the selected size and weight before changing from a lighter grip.

Choose size and shape together

Slim is the narrower option. Svelte combines a narrow width with larger flat sides, while Standard provides a fuller profile. Fat and Big Boy offer larger options on selected models. Check each product’s size selector for the versions listed.

Compare how the grip sits in your usual hand position, rather than choosing by its size name alone. The rectangular profile feels different from a rounded or pistol shape. A larger grip is not automatically a better fit; if possible, try the shape and size in your hands before deciding.

What do you need to fit a replacement putter grip?

Grip tape and compatible solution are sold separately. Check the grip’s core size against your putter shaft and follow the manufacturer’s fitting instructions, including alignment and drying time.
