JumboMax UltraLite vs Tour Series: what’s the difference?

Editorial image for JumboMax UltraLite vs Tour Series: what’s the difference

The main difference is weight and feel. JumboMax UltraLite is the lighter option. Tour Series uses a heavier, counterbalanced construction and has a firmer feel.

Choosing a larger grip and choosing a heavier grip are separate decisions. That’s why the model matters as much as the size.

UltraLite keeps the weight down

JumboMax describes UltraLite as a lightweight grip with a mid-firm feel and three surface textures. It is designed for golfers who want the larger profile while limiting the extra weight under their hands.

It’s the starting point we’d suggest if you want to try a bigger grip and are concerned about making a large change to grip weight.

Regrip carries the UltraLite Blackout and the black UltraLite with red, white and blue detailing.

Tour Series adds weight under your hands

Tour Series has a firmer feel, a dual-texture surface and a heavier construction in comparable sizes. That weight acts as a counterbalance at the handle end of the club.

More grip weight adds to the club’s total weight while changing its balance. It can make the head feel lighter relative to the handle. Whether you prefer that needs a trial.

The Tour Series Blackout is the option to compare if you deliberately want that firmer, heavier setup.

Compare the same size

Start with equivalent sizes in the two ranges. Otherwise you’re changing thickness and weight at the same time.

Check the listed dimensions and weight for the exact size you’re considering. “Small” on a JumboMax label doesn’t mean a conventional small grip.

JumboMax separates weight from size in its grip-weight guide. A heavier model isn’t automatically the better fit.

Try it before changing the bag

Use a club you know well. Pay attention to comfort, strike and whether you can feel the head where you expect it.

There’s no guaranteed distance gain from either model. Choose the one you hit comfortably and consistently.
